Rainbow offers diverse plastering and painting services, ranging from simple jobs such as paint touch-ups or plastering of a wall, to larger jobs like interior complete renovations of houses of character and farmhouses.

Whether works are on the internal or external, we are equipped to carry out any kind of plastering job. The most popular internal plastering method is gypsum plastering, mostly found in newly built houses and apartments. The two techniques used for gypsum plastering are the float or the ‘riegla’ technique. The latter is usually used when walls are extremely uneven or where perfection is an asset.

When it comes to external plastering works, we have many to choose from. Some examples are; Maltese ‘sfrakass’, smooth external plastering using stucco, graffiato or silicato, pointing out, more commonly known as ‘fuq il-fil’, just to mention a few. Height is not an issue as we make sure to have the adequate equipment and all the safety measures needed to properly reach all areas.

Prior to any plastering, surfaces are checked so that appropriate action is taken where and when necessary. This might entail applying a coat of primer or mechanically scraping the walls to create a rough surface for a better adhesion of the new plastering material. This is not something that is offered by every plastering contractor, but we, like few others, strive for better finishing results.

Furthermore, painting is usually one of the last trades to be carried out at a job site, and is usually this that makes a room or a façade stand out. When painting we pay extra attention to detail, as a bad painting job can easily ruin all efforts done in previous trades. Straight lines between different coloured walls or ceilings, surface smoothness and removal of any minor imperfections are some of the things we consider when applying painting coats. We also supply paint and are equipped with paint tinting machinery at our hardware store.
